30 km from the resort is the 3-level Kang Sopa waterfall. Water flows down rocky crevices through shady forests.

The Thung Salaeng Luang National Park |
This area is blessed with beautiful pine forests and fields bright with colorful flowers and blooms in different seasons, particularly during the late rainy season (October). Thung Salaeng Luang is a savannah grassland covering an area of 16 square km with high mountain ranges as backdrops
Thung Non Son is a flatland on the mountain-top in the heart of the park, noted for its profusion of wild flowers during October - December. It is 16 km by car and a further 15 km on foot from Ban Nong Mae Na.
Thung Phaya is a grassland surrounded by pine forests and virgin jungles. It is 12 km from Thung Salaeng Luang. |

Phra Buddha Chinnarat |
The famous Buddha of Phra Buddha Chinnarat, is one of the most highly revered Buddha images in Thailand.
Made of gilded bronze and dating back to the 14th century, the serene figure is a supreme example of late Sukhothai art. It has served as the model for many other Buddha images. It was cast in the attitude of subduing evil. |

The Folklore Museum of Dr. Thavi Buranakhet |
Located opposite the Buranathai Buddha image foundry, Wisutkasat road, Phitsanulok, this museum is well known for its collection of all folk-arts, crafts, basketry, pottery and ancient kitchen utensils.
In addition to these, there also are instruments for agriculture occupation and household living displayed. |

Khao Khor |
The rolling green hills of Khao Kor were once a major clashing point between the Thai military and the Communist forces that hid and resided among the densely forested hills.

Phu Hin Rong Kla National Park |
Phu Hin Rong Kla is an outstanding national park with unique natural and historical attractions. It was once the stage of armed conflicts due to political differences between the Thai people.
The living quarters, schools, hospitals and other facilities of the former Communists are reminders of those struggles.
There are beautiful waterfalls and the rocky grounds are strangely-shaped, some of which have deep crevices as if created by earthquakes. Others are full of jagged rock formations spreading over a wide area.

Nam Tok Chat Trakan National Park |
The Nam Tok Chat Trakan National Park covers forested areas to the northeast with headquarters some 145 km from town.
A major attraction of the park is a stunning 7-level waterfall cascading down high mountains. In front of the lowest level is a beach and a wide pond suitable for recreation.
Several bee-hives are located over the cliff. On some other cliffs are tracings of pre-historic carvings. |

Sukhothai Historical Park |
Founded in the 13th century, Sukhothai (literally “Dawn of Happiness”) was the first truly independent Thai Kingdom, which enjoyed a golden age under King Ramkhamhaeng, who is credited with creating the Thai alphabet.
The superb temples and monuments of this great city have been carefully restored in Sukhothai Historical Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a must-see for all visitors. |

Phu Soi Dao National Park |
The Phu Soi Dao National Park stretches along the Thai-Laotian border within the Chat Trakan district. The highest peak is 2,102 meters above sea level and the climate is cool for most of the year.
One of the most attractive features of the park is the savannah amid the dense pine trees. During the rainy season wild flowers run riot all over the area.
There are also beautiful waterfalls amid dense foliage. It is ideal for jungle walks but park rangers should be contacted to act as guides to the various attractions. As staying overnight is necessary, camping equipment should also be prepared. |

Sri Satchanalai Historical Park |
The old town of Si Satchanalai was the most important satellite city of the Sukhothai Kingdom. The ruins of the Si Satchanalai-Chalieng Historical Park lie on the bank of the Yom River, north of Sukhothai. It is considered by many as the pinnacle of Thai city planning, with temple complexes at its heart and surrounded by city walls, rivers and forests.
The nearby ruins of Chalieng are thought to be an earlier Khmer outpost dating from the 12th century. |
